• Pressure Relief valves are used to limit the pressure in the system as set on the valve. Pilot Operated Relief Valves are applicable more in systems where pressure regulation is needed over pressure safety. The barrel-piston assembly of the valve implies that the valve is not a zero leak valve and cannot be used for load holding applications. The valve is ideal for continuous duty providing accurate pressure control with constant or varying flows.

• When the inlet pressure at 1 (Pressure Port) exceeds the setting of the valve, the ball unseats causing the pilot section to open. This results in a small flow across the orifice in the main spool. The subsequent pressure drop moves the secondary spool against a light spring opening a ring of radial holes in the sleeve and allowing relief flow to 2 (Tank Port)

• 2FR valves are restrictive flow regulators. The flow (and actuator speed) will be largely independent of the load and the pressure conditions. If used to restrict flow from a fixed supply, for example a standard gear or piston pump, the valve will pass the required flow and any surplus flow will pass over the system relief valve.

• Inlet flow passes through the adjustable orifice and the radial holes in the spool/sleeve assembly then out of the regulated port. The pressure drop across the orifice is sensed at each end of the spool, producing a force which, at the required flow rate, overcomes the spring force. The resultant movement of the spool regulates the flow by opening the radial valve ports.

• Line body construction with through flow ports allows direct connection into hydraulic systems. A leakGproofadjustment screw gives easy, accurate adjustment to required flow setting. Hardened and ground workingparts give accurate flow control and long working life.
